Our Story

Kafé Utza was established in Miles City over 15 years ago. Beginning as a home roasting hobby turned full blown cafe turned roastery, Kafé Utza is now a well-known coffee staple in Eastern Montana.

In the fall of 2021, Chad and BeKa (Stein) Phipps purchased the business from the previous and original owner. Their love for coffee (and previous experience owning a small coffee shop in the town of Jordan, MT) fueled their passion to invest in the small business.

Since then, Kafé Utza has been popping up in places all over Miles City as well as neighboring towns and counties.
